Hera Health Solutions invited to UN Hosted ‘SDG Citypreneur Seoul 2019’

US based startup developing long acting treatments invited to Global Citypreneur 2019 Challenge in Seoul, Korea

(September 12, 2019) – Recently, Citypreneur Urban Innovation Seoul announced the top companies invited to participate in the Seoul 2019 program. Hera Health Solutions was one of the two US based companies invited to take part in the Global Citypreneur Conference.

The companies were chosen based on criteria of Impact (SDGs & Urban) and Profitability (Business Model & Scalability). The 30 finalist nominees give each company a permanent membership with Citypreneurs, travel grant subsidies, tech transfer opportunities, access to joint R&D opportunities, enagagement with Citypreneur Community Fund, future invitations to UN conferences and events, and the opportunity to network with the other global finalists.

Citypreneur Seoul 2019’s themes, all structured around the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) initiative, were as follows:

1. Health & Inclusive Ageing

a. Improve health and well-being for all, at all ages, and empower older persons to be economically and socially included in their city.

i. SDG 3: Ensure healthy lives and promore well-being for all at all ages

ii. SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities

iii. SDG 1: No poverty

2. Developing Skills

a. Upgrade skills and promote lifelong learning for jobs of the future for everyone

i. SDG 8: Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive employment and decent work for all

ii. SDG 9: Industry, innovation, and Infrastructure

iii. SDG 4: Quality education

3. Green Consumption & Production

a. Change the way we make, buy, and dispose to protect our planet

i. SDG 12: Ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns

ii. SDG 14: Life below water

iii. SDG 15: Life on Land

Citypreneurs brings together the global social entrepreneurship network, private and public investors, the tech sector, and government officials to provide a chance to connect, learn from, and be inspired by the shared purpose of creating positive impact for society and the environment. The initiatve aims to build a strong international start-up ecosystem and inter-sectoral collaboration through these networking opportunities. A few of the key co-hosts, partners, investors, and advisors of the Seoul 2019 program include, Seoul Metroplitan Government, United Nations ESCAP, UN DP, WFUNA, UNMYSC (Merry Year Social Company), Ignite Innovators, SparkLabs, Sopoong, Impact Square, and G3 Partners.

This year’s urban networking program will take place in Seoul, Korea on October 1st, 2019.


Hera Health Solutions (HHS) is a pharmaceutical device company seeking to redefine the way people take long-term prescription drugs. HHS specializes in the research, development and commercialization of long term treatments through proprietary biodegradable implants by using existing generic drugs in combination with already FDA-approved structural materials.
